The Baltimore Chapter of the NRHS, chartered in 1936, is a non-profit educational and social group dedicated to enhancing your enjoyment and knowledge of and involvement with, railroading in an around the Baltimore region – where the nation's first common carrier railroad, the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, started--and elsewhere.
If you share our interest in trains and railroading, then we think our organization is for you. While our members have widely varied tastes in railroading, they all share a deep commitment to the preservation of railroad history and artifacts, the hobby of railfanning, and even the restoration and operation of railroad equipment.
Foremost in all our activities is the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. Our monthly meetings bring us together to share stories and news, to reminisce, and to plan future club events. We have videos, media programs, or guest speakers every month. We share a research library with the Baltimore Streetcar Museum. In short, we provide a great opportunity to socialize and do some good old-fashioned "armchair railroading."
